I enjoyed watching this movie. I really liked how Guido, the main character, kept his hope and optimism even living through the Holocust. I learned that the simple happiness you share with people can change a lot. Like Guido, he brings happiness everywhere he went and because of that his family got to be safe. The movie helped me see what families had to go through during the Holocust and how so many poeple stood by without trying to speak out. A bystander in the movie is the doctor, he sees his friend (Guido) suffering and does nothing about it. But some upstanders are Dora and Guido. They give up so much to keep and be with their family even when they know they could’ve died. Overall it’s a really nice movie.
