Milk and Honey

Milk and Honey is a poetry book written by Rupi Kaur. The book is divided into four chapters that stand for the theme or focus on the poetry in that chapter. There are many images also by Rupi Kaur. The images help express the point of the poem and makes it stronger. Milk and Honey is definitely more of a mature book and deals with sexual relationships and topics some people aren’t comfortable with. But also topics many people deal with and because of that a lot of people can bring in their own connections. One of my favorite poems from the book is above the text. I like that it’s maybe not as strong of a topic as the others in this book, but that’s why it’s so important. Your mom carried a life inside of her body, and that’s such a beautiful thing, but that’s later disrespected by a lot of men (and actually woman) out there. So to be told by a grown man, you respect it even more. There are many more amazing poems in this book, which you can read yourself. But how do you feel about the poem I shared and do you have any connections?
